What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda literally means "the science of life" or "life knowledge" and dates from the Vedic period around 3500 BC. It offers a holistic approach to our body and mind and uses the knowledge about the elements. Rooted in the natural elements, Ayurveda works with three 'doshas' or constitution types that provide insight into your personal tendencies and sensitivities.

The goal of Ayurveda is to create balance in body and mind, through which diseases and inconveniences can be prevented and cured. This involves using different methods such as yoga, meditation, herbs, nutrition, bodywork and self-massage with holistic oils. Which combination of treatments is used depends on the constitution and which imbalance is present in the body at that moment.

Vata dosha

Do you have a lighter build, easily get hands and feet, fine hair, are you a quick thinker and talker, and are you full of ideas? Then chances are that you have a lot of Vata in your constitution. When Vata is out of balance, you tend to do a lot of worrying, feel confused and hurried, find it difficult to relax, and experience creaking joints and a difficult bowel movement. During the autumn and if you live in the city it is always good to give some extra attention to balancing Vata.

The Vata dosha consists of the elements ether and air and creates movement in the body and the mind. Examples include breathing, blood circulation, muscles and the nervous system, as well as thoughts and emotions such as anxiety, nervousness and pain.

The Vata oil is warming, calming and reassuring.

Sustainability

Ethics and sustainability are paramount in the production of the oils! For the production, only natural ingredients are used, and for the packaging Oil&Ohm has consciously chosen not to use plastic. All oil is in packaged in a glass bottle. This is because plastic only adds unnecessary chemicals for you as a user and does not benefit the quality of the oil, and because we do not want to burden nature with plastic packaging.

The argan oil is 100% organic and every batch is tested and certified again.
