Yoga as a Lifestyle
Let's dispel a myth right away: you don't have to be a bend king or a flexible wonder to practice yoga. Yoga is for everyone, regardless of your body type or age. You can see Yoga as a sport, but above all as a lifestyle. Your lifestyle!
Yoga is more than a sport
Yoga is not only a sport but also a way of life. It doesn't matter only makes you more flexible, but it also ensures mental peace, flexibility and literally and figuratively: balance! Because you practice yoga, you often make more conscious and better choices. This also manifests itself in other times of the day. Take time for a quiet breakfast, surround yourself with positive people and create space for moments of silence. It's not just what you do, but how you do it.
Breath in breath out
One of the most powerful yet simple aspects of yoga is breathing. Breathing is something we do all day long, but we often forget how it can help us. Take a deep breath every now and then. Feel the air flowing into your lungs and exhale stress. Are you faced with a difficult decision: do the breathing exercises you learned from Yoga, think carefully first and then make the decision. You can also apply the things you learn about breathing during difficult moments in your life, such as recovery after an illness, a sad event or let it help you in a time when things are not going so well.
Live healthy(er)
A relaxed lifestyle also includes what we put into our bodies. Try to remind yourself to eat mindfully. Enjoy healthy foods that give you energy and hydrate yourself well. It's all about finding a balance that works for you. Through Yoga you often make better decisions regarding food quality and especially in terms of quantity.
Routine works wonders
Never see Yoga as an obligation for yourself, but as a nice moment for yourself. Find a way that suits your life: yoga classes or online at home. Once you incorporate Yoga into your routine, you will start to enjoy it more and more and it will do wonders for you. Your body gets used to it, so does your mind. You will see that you will even start looking forward to that Yoga hour or half hour. Rest for a while and do your exercises that will feel better and better.
Yoga is my lifestyle!
I once started with Yoga. I don't know when or why, but there was a moment in my life when I started doing it. I have been doing it for years now and every evening. Either I go to Yoga class or I do it at home through an online class. If I'm on the road, I do it in the hotel room or wherever. You don't need much for Yoga, a foldable mat is enough to do the exercises on. That one time in an aisle of a night train was a little less, but in general you can do yoga (almost) anywhere.
Yoga is now part of my life just like eating, drinking and sleeping. Moral of the story: Yoga and Lifestyle are like the day and the night, the sun and the moon or salt and pepper. It's about enjoying the moment, breathing, moving and simply taking good care of yourself. No achievements, just you, in this moment, exactly as you are.
